Thanksgiving

I realize that Thanksgiving was almost a week ago but I needed to add this into the blog just for fun. We had a really nice day at Andrew's parents house. Andrew's sister Shelly and her whole family were there as well as Andrew's brother Michael and his family. A few other people that were there were Amy, Jessica, Grandma Darrington, and Grandma Tolman. So it was a house full. We all said what we were thankful for. I personally am super thankful for the fact that I graduated college this year and that I have a great job. Andrew decided to take a different route which is ok because I wanted him to be able to share our huge news. He told his family that we are going to be having a new baby. He or she will be due May 25 and I think I am finally excited about it. It took a little while to get used to but I think I am now. Kodi enjoyed her first thanksgiving. She could only have a few things to eat like a roll, some fruit salad and green beans, but she loved every bite. In fact she took a super long nap right after we ate and she didn't have turkey. But I think her cousins wore her out.
The rest of the weekend was also a really great one. On Friday I had to work, but I took some sewing project and worked on them since we were super slow. However that night we went over to my parents house to watch the Boise State game (which they lost, and I slept through). Nikki came over and I was so excited to see her. I really miss her!
Saturday we chilled at home until lunch time and then we went back over to the Tolman's house where Amy made us a super yummy lunch. It was pork loin sandwiches with Apple salsa and I have wanted another one ever since. Later that day Andrew watched the BYU game (which they lost!) and I crafted. I made some super cute holiday cards under Lisa and Amy's supervision. Thank goodness for sisters who are creative. But that was our wonderful weekend.

Cold Cold Cold!!!

Oh my heck it is so stinking cold in Idaho. When I got in my truck this morning it was a whopping 6 degrees, but it was also windy therefore it felt colder. I am currently wearing gloves while I type this and my fingers are still cold. Yesterday my office was closed at noon due to the wind and snow. I really wish that we were also closed today. Other than myself there is only one other person that I work with that is here today. Everyone else is either sick or they took the week off. Wow that would be nice, but oh well I am saving my days for later when I really need them.

Actually I want to tell some truth for a minute. I am kinda enjoying the snow... and I usually hate the snow. But since we have not really had a snowy winter for the last two years I think the snow is really pretty. And one other plus about Pocatello, Idaho is that people use actual christmas light to decorate. In New Mexico they used luminarios (I am not sure of the spelling). Which are basically a brown paper sack with a candle inside. They were neat but I just love it when people go all out and have their whole yards decorated. So I am really looking forward to taking a family drive around Poky to see all the lights. I am also finding out that Andrew is not a very good snow driver which is super funny for me since I always tease him about his driving but hopefully he will get used to driving on snowy slick roads for Kodi's sake.
Kodi is not a fan of being outside in the snow. She hates it when it gets in her face and that it is so cold. If we are out side for like 10 seconds she start to shiver and her teeth chatter. I think it is mostly an act but it is super cute to watch. Kodi does like snow in the house though. Yesterday when we got home I had some snow on my shoes and she thought that it was great until it melted. She is a funny little girl.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow and I am happy to be spending time with family. We are going to Andrew's parents house which should be a lot of fun, super loud, and have yummy food. Tonight Andrew and I are going to Harry Potter, the origional plan was for us to go with his whole family but they all went last night and we already have a babysitter for tonight so we are going on a little date. Hopefully it is worth it, we have seen a bunch of movies that totally suck so I am really ready to see a good one.

Well Happy Thanksgiving to everyone I hope you have a wonderful day; Full of family, friends, food, and thanks.

Boy oh Boy

So yesterday was going pretty well and I was getting a lot done at work. Every thursday I go and teach a little class for the After School Program either on Getting Fit or Nutrition. So this week was get fit and I was teaching my little group how to jump rope. Sad to say most of them had no idea how to jump rope. I was amazed. When I was in grade school we were always jumping rope during recess and we had a bunch of songs and games. So it was a little bit sad that these kids did not know how to jump.

But that is not the reason for my post. We were trying to do relay races and they kids were not listening to me at all. But this one 3rd grade girl came up to me and I quote said "Are you a BOY, Cause you look like a boy." I did not know what to say to this little punk of a kid. I had large hoop earrings on, a lace trimmed shirt and make up on. Seriously what is this world coming to that I would ever look like a boy to some one. I wanted to cry or punch that little brat. But instead I just told her to go away and jomp some more. I think from now on I should wear a push up bra and high heels everywhere I go. Then there would be no question for anyone. Well that is a little over the top and I am not going to do that but really my feelings are a little hurt.

Babies!!!

I am so very lucky. On Monday my older brother Morgan and his wife Riley had their first baby and I have already met her. She is so sweet and beautiful. Some babies are a little funny looking when they are born... Like Kodi (but she has an excuse, she was stuck). But not Raegan, She is so pretty and she has hair. I got to hold her for quite some time and she just kicked me and streched out. Lots of sneezing and yawning. She is very perfect and I just love her so much already. I have a bunch of neices and nephews on Andrew's side but it is totally different when your brother has a baby now. She just seems like more of a family member, that probably sounds totally bad or weird. But its how I feel. I don't love the others less I just love Raegan differently just as I will for all of my Brothers kids. I guess.

Andrew and I have been very swamped and I am ready for a break. But we are not going to get one. Now that we are mostly out of college there is no such thing as christmas break or spring break and I could really use one. It just seems like between work, family activities, house, Kodi, cleaning and cooking, callings (we each have 2 now :(, ) and other stuff we just never get a break. And it really doesn't look like we will. I have been feeling terrible for a month now and I am just over stressed. So if anyone is reading this I totally have the poor me attitude right now I I need to change it.

So to look on the bright side...
I love my family and Roxie.
We have a great apartment.
We have good paying jobs with benefits.
The gosple is in my life and it is not going any where
I have the best little girl in the world.
Kodi might be getting a brother or sister.
I have some amazing friends.
I am super blessed in everthing that I do.

Ok now I feel better and I also feel like crying a little. wow I am a baby.
So next time that I have a poor me attitude please someone remind me that I have so many great things in my life that I am over looking.

Now a Kodi update. She is a walker. I need to post a video of her cruzing around. she is so funny and walks a little like a drunk sailor. I am almost positive that she is either going through a growth spurt again or getting more teeth. either one I am not ready for. I seriously cannot keep that kid in clothes. She just keeps growing out of them. But oh well that what she is supposed to be doing right.. growing...growing and then some more growing. She is so beautiful and her grandma Tolman calls her cupcake. Which i think fits her perfectly. she is just so pretty and sweet. bragging now done :)

Much love to all who check up on me!

Lights out!!!

So yesterday Kodi turned 9 Months old. Wow time sure is flying by. She is so big and smart. She is walking and crawling everywhere and she is so much fun to be around. On Saturday we were a Wal-Mart and Andrew just had to look at the TV's. He was telling me all about them and which one he liked. Kodi was being a good girl just sitting in the cart listening to us talk. Andrew was just rambling on about TV's and then clear as day Kodi said "NO". It was so funny. She was telling her daddy just what I wanted to say.

As for the title of this post our lights actually went out last night for over an hour. It was dark outside, really rainy, and there was a lot of thunder and lightening. I am really scared of the dark so naturally I did not enjoy the initial shock of sitting in the dark. But once we found the flashlight and lit some candles it was actually not that bad. The TV was off. No internet. Just good quality family time. Andrew and I got a chance to talk and just play with Kodi. She was so interested in the Flash light. Thankfully the power did come back on and we were able to have some heat. We are still not used to the cold temperatures in Idaho. They really make me miss Las Cruces.

This week is a super busy one. Wish me luck. I have loads of work to do, Cub Scout Pack Meeting, Family Party on Friday and A big birthday bash for Andrew's grandma on saturday. Not to mention Halloween and taking Kodi to see everyone all dressed up in her custome. It should be a great week though. :)

October is flying by.

I feel like this month is disappearing right before my eyes and I wish it would slow down. It seems like we are always busy. In fact kinda sad and kinda funny I did not cook dinner for a week. Between cub scouts, family gatherings, a baby shower, and Sunday dinner at the Davies house I just did not have a chance to cook. I mean we ate really well over the last week, but it was just a little weird to think of.

In all of Payton's emails he says that his mission is flying by and I totally agree with him. Ever since Kodi was born my days just run together. It could also be the fact that I am finally graduated from school and I am not worried about finals and home work and thanksgiving break. Now those were the days. Wait no these are the days I totally love hanging out with my family. It was so funny the other morning when we were loading Kodi up to go to her grandma house we had her all bundled up in her car seat and then she lifted up her blanket up with both hands and covered her face with it, then she pulled her blanked down and screamed. She was totally playing peek-a-boo with us. She just kept doing it over and over. Andrew and I were practically on the floor laughing out heads off. She is so funny and is always doing silly things like that.
She is so close to full time walking. Every once in a while she will stand up and walk across the room and I will think she is going to keep it up. But then she drops to the floor and takes off crawling.

Kodi is also finally getting some hair. And I am finding out that I wish she did not have any. Doing little girls hair is not easy, plus she only has enough to spike up. Eventhough she is still super cute.

Andrew is also staying really busy. He is still getting up every morning at like 5 am to do is P90X. He is amazing I would have given up a long time ago. But he is just super dedicated to losing weight and gaining muscle. I am very proud of him :) He is also working really hard on his writing. Every night he sits down and types away. Hopefully soon he will be sending something in to a publisher. Another thing that is going to happen is Andrew is going to start Grad school this spring. Personally I am not looking forward to more school for our family. But it is what he wants to do. He has decided to go into communications. Our primary class has made him change his mind about teaching. haha ha. Kids are tough. Especially when they are not your 0wn. So wish him good luck.

I am just working my days away. I really like my job, it gives me a chance to learn new skills and to be around others. I really wish I was a home with my Kodi but I also know that I am helping provid for her. My two callings are the main thing that is kicking my butt right now. Being in Cub scouts is like a full time job all in its self and I think I am failing at it big time. But the boys seem to be having fun.

It will be interesting to see what will happen over the next year. Hopefully something great :)

New Picture update

So I have been taking pictures of Kodi every chance I get and they are all so cute I am going to load this blog up today. So I hope you enjoy :)

These first pictures are Kodi in her possible Halloween costume. She loved wearing it and she would not let me take it off of her.

Kodi was falling asleep even before she ate.

Look at her index finger she loves to touch everything like this.

Kodi is very messy when she eats and the looks she was giving me on this particular day were priceless. I found a glow stick and Kodi just thought it was amazing. Always yelling at me even when I take pictures.

But usually I can get a big smile like this one.
